Meet the Founder
Compassion. Dedication. Loving-kindness. Patience. These are characteristics that a servant leader should embody, whether they be innate or acquired over time. Ladies of Pearls Mentoring prides itself in being the best in order to aid in producing the best. Thus, our Founder, Tamika L. Adams, prioritizes her work ethic to ensure that she is always capable to provide superior service to her Pearls and Pearls-to-Be.
Tamika L. Adams is Founder and CEO of The Empress and Pearls Inc. Having matriculated in Corporate America as an account executive, she has acquired a skill set resulting in sage wisdom that is the foundation of this very organization. Tamika is also a loving, dedicated wife and biological mother of two. She looks forward to being a mother to many through her stewardship to our beloved Pearls as she continues to help champion her daughter, Destiny through her personal collegiate and professional endeavors.
We all reach a phase in our lives where we must set the proper foundation to tomorrow’s endeavors. Tamika has spent her life preparing for this very program, given the unconditional dedication she has provided to her daughter. It is her intention that she carries out the same for your beloved Pearls.
Our Vision
In African traditions, the trading and usage of the pearl dates back to times before the sixteenth century. Villagers would receive the precious beads in exchange for fresh foods and other goods from Arab, British, Dutch and Portuguese traders.
Even further, the pearl often carried many meaning denoting age, marital or social status, and sex. Little girls would use the beads as adornments and to symbolize celibacy.
At The Empress and Pearls, The Pearl represents each life we intend to impact. We believe that our young women deserve a safe space that not only cultivates their minds, shaping them for success, but also a space that celebrates their cultures and resonates with their day-to-day experiences. Thus, it is our Vision to act as a unifying staple in each aspiring lady’s villages or communities.
Our Mission
Our Mission at The Empress and Pearls Inc. is to aid in cultivating the minds of young women of color through motherly guidance, mentorship, and education. We highlight the symbolism of the pearl: a popular gem stone, rich in character, and powerful in impact.
